A blend of cabernet sauvignon (45 percent), merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot, this luscious wine packs a lot of concentrated dark berry fruit. Good depth and finish.Francis Coppola Presents Rosso 2005 ($11). We're not enamored by the name given to the film director's 2006 purchase of Chateau Souverain. But we are impressed by the simple flavors of this delicious wine. Intended to mimic the everyday wines that graced the Coppola's family table, the rosso and bianco are characterized by clean fruit flavors.
Utes turn to 'Utah Man' Scalley to take over as safeties coach
As expected, Utah coach Kyle Whittingham stayed "in-house" to fill the vacancy on his coaching staff. Former player Morgan Scalley was officially hired as the Utes' new safeties coach. He'll also be involved with special teams. "We are pleased to announce the addition of Morgan Scalley to our coaching staff," Whittingham said in a released statement. "As a coach, Morgan brings the same energy and passion to our program that he did when he was a team captain and an All-America defensive back for us. Morgan did a great job this past season in his role as a graduate assistant coach, and after conducting a national search, it became apparent that he was the right fit for our staff." Scalley enthusiastically agrees. "I have always been a 'Utah Man' and I'm grateful that coach Whittingham has given me the opportunity to coach at the school I love," Scalley said in the official announcement.
Spaghetti Sauce, Navarro, and Nyquil
I am lucky that I come from such hearty stock. My mother's father's parents lived to 97 and 98 years old (I didn't grow up with a dad, so I don't know the longevity I may be inheriting from that side of my genes). Sadly, I lost my remaining great grandparent, Teresa Siliano, this week. And I am gonna miss her. Grandma Siliano left Italy for the United States at the age of 17. Growing up in the small Pennsylvania town of Warren, I was never far from her or any of my family, so I spent plenty of time with her and around her. She was a short woman--maybe 5 feet tall--and a loving one. She was the prototypical Italian grandmother, surrounding herself with family and cooking up a storm. Whenever you entered her small house, you could always smell something delicious coming from the stovetop, and chances are, whatever it was would be served on top of pasta.
Back in Business
They listed the home for sale briefly in late 2006 but eventually decided they wanted to reopen. So after a three-plus-year hiatus, the doors of the Taylor house are open once again. This time around, the Tuckers have made some adjustments to the business, and in their personal life, to help avoid the pitfalls they experienced in the past. They have a new Web site - www.Taylor-House.com - to handle reservations and two full-time employees. Deborah Tucker has taken a step back from the business to give more attention to the family and her teaching career, leaving her husband to manage the house and his jewelry store. He works about 75 hours a week: 25 hours at the inn and 50 hours at the jewelry store. "We did see how much it took from us the first time around," Deborah Tucker said.

Potlucks without the 'yuck'
You'll plan your next family potluck with ease. Strategies n Before you start cookin' and recipe lookin', make sure you know what everyone is bringing to the potluck. There needs to be enough main dishes, sides and desserts. n A casserole should feed eight to 10 guests. The host should make up the difference. Vary the menu so you have some newfangled dishes and some old favorites. n Make sure you're going to have enough room in the oven and the microwave to get everyone's dish hot by dinner time. Borrow a microwave or two. Fire up the toaster-oven for the breads and rolls. n If the recipe goes into a crock pot, remind your friends to bring one along and make sure you've got an electrical power strip on the counter so they're plugged in, with ladles nearby, ready to go.
